How to be Present

by Melissa Klass, Marriage and Family Therapist

Turn off your phone. Leave it in the car. Strive to be present when you are with your friends and family. Try this quick grounding exercise: Choose a color. Look around you and name, to yourself, everything you see that is that color. This will help you be present in your environment. The simple act of being in the moment will allow you to be happier, calmer, and more relaxed before, during, and after the holidays.
